Hazel Booth was born on her family's farm in Kiowa County, Kansas, in 1904. She married Charles Lawler in 1922 and passed away in Seattle, Washington, in 1971. Hazel was a prolific painter her entire lifetime and painted many pictures for her family, friends, and neighbors. She signed most of her paintings with H.Lawler. She is Cadance's grandmother and taught Cady to paint. Here we see her working on her painting of Lake Watson, Prescott, Arizona.

Hazel always took pictures with her little Kodak camera (first in B&W and later in color) of her finished paintings before giving them to her intended recipients. The following paintings are some that Cady found the aging negatives for and she was able to scan the images. We are unsure of the sizes or dates painted for these pictures.
